Job Title: Finance Manager (WJFO, WPVF & WPVR2 Group, Debtors & Cashflow)
Accountable To: Financial Controller
Job Purpose Statement:
Assisting the Financial Controller in managing the accounts’ function and all financial activities within the business. To provide accurate financial information and advice and ensure sound financial management.
Main Responsibilities:
- To assist the Financial Controller in the running of the Accounts Department.
- To manage a small team of 3 staff.
- To assist the Financial Controller and Finance Director in the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP.
- To assist the Financial Controller in managing the year-end function including liaising with external auditors for audit purposes.
- To ensure monthly management accounts for the Family Office (WJFO), WPVF and the WPVR2 Group are complete and accurate and prepared in a timely manner for monthly board presentations.
- To ensure the debtors reporting is complete and accurate and prepared in a timely manner.
- To ensure weekly cash flow forecasts are complete and accurate and prepared in a timely manner.
- To ensure there is an appropriate system of cash management so that the interest earned on surplus cash is maximised.
- To develop and maintain relevant and appropriate accounting systems, policies and procedures as required in order to ensure the Finance Department can meet the growing needs of the business and operate in an efficient manner.
- To delegate tasks to staff and manage staff workload.
- To provide a technical resource to the Finance Department and other staff.
- To train staff as required.
- To assist the Financial Controller with any ad hoc duties.
Knowledge, skills and experience required:
- Qualified member of an accountancy body or holder of an equivalent qualification.
- Meet the requirement for a commercially astute, articulate, technically strong, dynamic, insightful and influential leader with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels.
- Multi-company accounting experience, including complex inter-company reconciliations.
- Ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision-making.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to solve problems, exercise judgment and work to deadlines.
- Exceptional communication skills at all levels, internally as well as externally.
- Ability to work in team-oriented environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- To carry out ad-hoc assignments as directed by the Financial Director.
